Dear members and neighbours
I hope this finds you and yours all well as we approach mid-summer and thereafter, hopefully, a revival of our social and economic lives.
I wanted to update you on progress with the drafting of the Belgravia Neighbourhood Plan and also to appeal for assistance in gathering evidence to support some of our proposed actions and policies.
The preparation of the Plan is now well underway, with some three-quarters of the narrative text drafted. The final draft Plan will comprise two types of recommendation: Policies and Action Areas. Policies will cover those matters which are subject to planning policy. Action areas cover those areas which are of concern to the local community but are not eligible for inclusion in planning policy. These will range from design principles to ensure preservation of the classic Belgravia streetscape, through to actions to reduce the impact of heavy traffic and disruption as a result of construction.
It is on this last point, disruption as a result of construction, that we are now appealing to those of you who are residents of Belgravia.
Have you been personally negatively affected by construction works in the past 5 years?
If so, we would love you to give us details to help build up an evidence base of the extent and types of negative effects experienced. The evidence needs to be in a specific format with information provided as shown in the table below. Examples of the kind of information required are shown in red
| 1. Your name / address
|
NB We will not publish any address information or your own details, merely use it to monitor which parts of the area are affected
|
| 2. General description of type of negative impact | E.g. Drilling noise and vibration / dirt / traffic / damage to house / damage to pavement / traffic issues / out of hours working etc etc
|
| 3. Address of construction site | E.g. 27 XYZ Street
|
| 4. Approx date / timescale | E.g. 2019-2020, 6 months
|
| 5. Type of project | E.g. General refurbishment of house / back extension / basement project etc
|
| 6. Reason why this is/was a negative impact | 1. Contractor regularly started work before 8.00 am and continued after 1.00 pm on Saturdays.
2. Vehicles associated with the works parked up on the pavement outside my house on a regular basis 3. Loud continuous drilling over a period of weeks prevented working from home 4. Dust / debris in my house and garden |
If you have experienced more than one type of negative impact from the same project please list them all.
