Consultation Process
How we arrived at the Belgravia Neighbourhood Plan
A considerable amount of consultation was undertaken in the preparation and drafting of the Belgravia Neighbourhood Plan.
Key highlights of the consultation process were:
2016
A series of informal drop in workshops were held to understand local needs and attitudes. These were undertaken by consultants, Tibbalds, and are summarised in the two documents below.
Tibbalds Initial Consultation – July 2016
Tibbalds Second Consultation – November 2016
2018
These qualitative explorations were followed by a major quantitative survey in May 2018. The questionnaire was delivered to 3,200 homes and businesses in the Belgravia Neighbourhood Area. This was followed later in the year by a public open meeting to present and seek approval for emerging directions for the plan.

2020
2020 saw a further survey of the community, this time focusing purely on the aspect of ‘Village Feel’, and a second public meeting (this time held via zoom) to communicate the emerging policies likely to be included in the draft plan.

2022
By the start of 2022 the initial draft of the Plan was taking shape. Key highlights were presented to stakeholders in January and full Regulation 14 public consultation was undertaken in July / August 2022.
